SAVING YOUR GAME
Mandark's Laboratory uses one block. Ensure you have enough free blocks on your memory card before playing. Refer to your PlayStation hardware manual to free space. If you do not have a memory card, you cannot save your game. At certain points, you will be prompted to save your game. Highlight YES and press the button to save, or highlight NO and press the button to decline.
LOADING A SAVED GAME
From the Options Screen, selecting Load Game takes you to the Load Game Screen. Here you can load your saved game from the memory card. Select YES to continue your game from the saved point. Selecting NO returns you to the Options Screen.
The game will automatically load from boot-up if a memory card is present. The "Continue Adventure" option from the main menu starts you at your previously saved level with all collected items restored.
PLAYING THE ADVENTURE GAME
Choosing to play the Adventure Game allows you to help Dexter save his lab from his nemesis Mandark.
Adventure Mode has 4 different areas, each with 2 mini-games. You must complete Adventure Mode to unlock all mini-games in Challenge Mode (initially, only 2 mini-games are available in Challenge Mode).
Mandark has infiltrated Dexter's laboratory with a scheme to shut down Dexter's operation. Control Dexter to explore the lab, find Mandark, and stop his plot.
During the Adventure Game, control Dexter using the directional buttons or the left analog stick.
Challenge Icons
While exploring, Dexter will discover objects or characters highlighted by a question mark. These items can help Dexter. Move Dexter close to these items, and an "X" will appear at the lower right of the screen. Press the button on your controller to uncover a clue or be presented with a challenge. Completing challenges helps Dexter in his quest.
To progress, Dexter must successfully complete a number of mini-games, represented by icons at the top right of the screen. These icons are initially faded but become colored as you complete the mini-games.
There are four areas to explore: Dexter's house and three areas in Dexter's Laboratory. In each area, you will find four Blueprint Pieces. Collecting all four pieces of a blueprint gives you the option to play a mini-game to assemble them. Success awards you one of Dexter's inventions, providing an advantage in mini-games.
SINGLE PLAYER CHALLENGE MODE
Challenge Mode allows you to play any of Dexter's mini-games and attempt to beat a high score. On the Challenge Mode Menu, use the directional buttons to highlight a mini-game and the button to select it.
After selecting a mini-game, a sub-menu allows you to choose the difficulty level. Not all difficulty levels are immediately available; unlocked levels are crossed out. You must complete games in order of difficulty. For example, successfully completing Dee Dee's Dance Off in Easy Mode (or in an Adventure) unlocks the Normal difficulty setting.
The stars on the Mini-Game Screen show your success rating. The ultimate goal is to complete all mini-games on Genius level to earn three stars in each. Completing mini-games this way unlocks various images in Dexter's Vault.

TWO PLAYER CHALLENGE MODE
Two-Player Challenge Mode lets you and a friend compete head-to-head in any of Dexter's mini-games. A running total of games won by each player is logged. The game ends when one player loses all their tries. On the Challenge Mode Menu, use the directional buttons to highlight a mini-game and the button to select it.
MINI-GAMES
DEE DEE's Dance OFF
Use the directional buttons and the buttons to make Dexter copy Dee Dee's dance moves in time to the music. As symbols scroll past the hit point, press the corresponding button to make Dexter dance. Dee Dee sets a qualifying score for Dexter to reach in each of the 5 stages. You gain points by timing correct button presses.
Every correct button press awards points, moving your total closer to the qualifying target. If your score doesn't match or exceed Dee Dee's at the end of a stage, Dexter loses one of his 3 tries. The game ends when all 3 tries are used.
