Starting Power Play: Sports Trivia
POWER PLAY: SPORTS TRIVIA can be played by one to four players. When the game starts, you will be prompted to select a theme. You can choose from BASKETBALL, BASEBALL, HOCKEY, FOOTBALL, or ALL sports knowledge. After selecting a theme, you will choose between two game types: TOURNAMENT and LAST MAN STANDING.
After choosing the game type, you will be asked how many players will be participating. A controller must be plugged in for each player. Use a MULTITAP to add more than two controllers. The game will show which controller each player has been assigned.
Each player then enters a name and selects an icon to help identify them.

Game Types
POWER PLAY: SPORTS TRIVIA has two kinds of games: TOURNAMENT and LAST MAN STANDING. TOURNAMENT is a quick sprint to the trivia Hall of Fame, while LAST MAN STANDING is an endurance contest. Tournament Game
A Tournament game is a battle between players for trivia supremacy. You will be presented with ten questions that increase in difficulty. Each question is worth 100, 200, or 300 points. Answering correctly awards points, while answering incorrectly loses points. Answering successive questions correctly builds a streak, multiplying the question's point value by your current streak count. The player with the most points at the end of the game wins.
For each correct answer, you will move up in rank, from Pee-Wee to Legend.
Last Man Standing Game
In a Last Man Standing game, players take turns answering questions. Only one player is active at a time. Answering correctly awards points and possibly a bonus based on your streak count.
Answering incorrectly or not at all results in losing points and increases your miss count. When a player's miss count reaches the maximum, that player is benched. The winner is the last remaining player.
In a single-player Last Man Standing game, you play until you miss the maximum allowed. You can select the allowable number of missed questions after choosing the game type.
Playing a Game
To play POWER PLAY: SPORTS TRIVIA, you need to be smart and quick. In a multi-player Tournament game, the first player to buzz in gets the first chance to answer. Choosing the correct answer earns points. Choosing a wrong answer (or failing to choose after buzzing in) loses points. All questions are timed. You must buzz in before the timer runs out.
