Shellshock is a 3D action game where you play as a rookie in the anti-terrorist tank force Da Wardenz. The story follows your character's journey through 25 increasingly difficult missions, where you must prove yourself to be a valuable member of the team.
The game takes place at 'The Pen', Da Wardenz' headquarters, which serves as a hub for exploring and interacting with team members. Before each mission, you can explore the various locations, including the main hangar, basketball court, and simulation room, to learn more about the situation and your role.
The gameplay is from a first-person perspective, where you control the M-13 Predator tank, which is highly customizable and upgradable. The game has an arcade feel, similar to 'Quarantine' and 'Doom', with an emphasis on destruction and action. You can destroy enemies, but also trees and buildings.
After completing each mission, you earn cash that can be spent on repairing your tank and upgrading its capabilities.

SHELLSHOCK is an action game where players control a rookie commando tank driver. They complete missions in diverse real-world locations, battling enemies and upgrading their M-13 Predator battletank to prove themselves.
Story
The Pitch
SHELLSHOCK places you as a rookie member of Da Wardenz, a commando tank force. Your goal is to complete a tour of duty, proving yourself through a series of missions in various real-world locations.
You will battle through environments like the freezing forests of Mostvia Vatska and the steaming Paranaguan jungle. You are armed with an M-13 Predator battletank and heavy-duty ordnance.
As you progress, you'll have the opportunity to upgrade your tank's performance, armor, and armaments.
The M-13 Predator Battletank
The M-13 Predator is a state-of-the-art mobile mayhem machine. It is essential for deployment in dangerous locations like Mostvia Vatska.
It features a 240mm, M257, smooth-bore main cannon for armor-piercing shells. It also has a 60mm, M231 pivoting chain-gun with a built-in targeting CPU that tracks airborne and ground targets.
The Predator can be equipped with a surface-to-air missile launcher, loaded with up to 4 Viper, fire-and-forget SAMs. For defense, it has depleted uranium armor that can be upgraded and replaced.
Starting Out
SHELLSHOCK begins with an animated Introduction. This is followed by the Title Screen.
β’
From the Title Screen, press X to go to Da Wardenz HQ, known as THE PEN.
The Pen
The Pen is located in an abandoned state correctional facility on Jackson Island, New York City. Here, you can explore the game's various options.
These options include accessing status screens, equipping your tank, and entering Mission Briefings.

Sometimes The Man talks to you, setting the scene with background details to the mission location. Everything said in the briefings is vital to successful mission completion. You can leave briefings at any time.
Offensive Air Support
This is your fourth main weapon, acting like a big smart bomb. You'll hear it before you see it, then it's "bye-bye to the bad guys."
A note from Earshot:
Hostages
Listen up and listen good. This is the lowdown on hostage rescue.
When you drive your tank to within a certain range of a hostage, they'll run toward you and climb aboardβbut

Enemies & Characters
The Man
The leader of Da Wardenz. His real name is restricted and he holds the rank of Colonel.
Earshot
Darnell Jones, a Sergeant, is in charge of Communications and Tactics, providing in-game messages related to objectives.
D-Tour
Cecil Coles, a Private First-Class and expert with armored vehicles, accompanies you in the tank during missions as your buddy.
Props
Alvin Fielder, a Corporal, is an ordnance and supply specialist who controls the equipment and ammunition for your Predator tank.
Dogg-Tag
Mike Reynolds, a Captain and West Point educated, is the leader of Da Wardenz and briefs you at the outset of each mission, also knowing The Man's true identity.
9-1-1
Charles Valdez, a Lieutenant and West Point graduate, is Da Wardenz' pilot, flying the A-10 for supporting air-cover and decorating their vehicles.
TANKS
These mobile ground threats are similar to your own tank and can hit hard if given the chance.
HEAVY BATTLETANKS
These ground threats can take more hits than smaller tanks but are not as fast.
LIGHT ARMORED FIGHTING VEHICLES (AFVs)
Highly maneuverable, light tanks that are small but deadly, requiring caution.
ARMORED PERSONNEL CARRIERS (APCs)
Identical to the Battletank in maneuvering, these ground threats are armed with a chain-gun with a 90-degree arc of fire.
GUNBOATS
Restricted to deep water, these waterborne threats have a chain-gun mounted on their bows with a 90-degree arc of fire.
LIGHT ATTACK HELICOPTERS
These airborne threats are armed with a chain-gun and will hover before attacking you.
HELICOPTER GUNSHIPS
These are dangerous airborne threats, essentially flying tanks attacking with missiles and other weaponry.
Items & Weapons
240mm M257 Main Cannon
This is your big gun. Use it to take out ground targets. The Main Cannon has an unlimited supply of shells.
60mm M231 Chain-gun
This is your not-so-big gun. Use it to take out both air and ground targets. The Chain-gun locks on automatically to the nearest target.
Milipps Systems 'Viper' Surface-to-air Missiles (SAMs)
These are limited in number and can only be used against threats from the air. They require a lock-on before they can be fired and will home in on the target.
Armor Repair
This repairs your tank's armor by 1 Armor Unit.
Extra Armor
This adds a new piece of armor-equivalent to 1 Armor Unit-to your Predator battletank, increasing its current armor strength.
SAMs
You can buy up to 4 of these. None are fitted to your tank at the start of the game.
Tracks Upgrade
This upgrade improves the traction of your Predator's tracks, enabling them to get a much better grip on surfaces, though it may adversely affect your tank's top speed.
Offensive Air Support
Nine does a single run per mission, providing air support, but it is an expensive operation.
Tips & Maps
Chain Gun Coolant
This will upgrade the speed at which your Chain Gun is reloaded.
Reload Mechanism Upgrade
This will slightly improve the speed of reloading your tank's main cannon, therefore increasing your rate of fire. My advice to you is to purchase several of these to achieve maximum performance.
Targeting Computer Upgrade
This will upgrade your Predator's targeting CPU so's you can achieve a lock-on with both chain-gun and SAMs a lot faster. Once again, my advice is to buy several of these to achieve maximum effect.
Engine Upgrade
Buying an Engine Upgrade will increase your tank's acceleration, top speed and the speed of rotation (maneuverability). Buy a whole bunch-but make sure you also got Tracks Upgrades too. There's no point having great acceleration unless you have the traction to use it.
