Starblade , released for the Sega CD in 1994, is a Shoot'em Up game where you control a gunner in a "GeoSword" fightercraft. Your mission is to destroy an enemy armada and reach their base planet, Redeye. You have around 10 missions ahead of you, with your wingmen providing support throughout. As you progress, you'll need to shoot out the sides of huge enemy battlecruisers, travel inside of enemy carriers, and navigate through the canyons of Redeye to deliver your payload.
The game offers a choice between an arcade mode and an enhanced mode on the PlayStation and 3DO versions. In the enhanced modes, flat polygons are remade in fully textured polygons, removing black bars from the sides to provide a fullscreen view.
