Players compete in ATV Thunder Ridge Riders using All-Terrain Vehicles (ATVs) across various game modes such as Quick Game, Career Mode, and Timed Checkpoint. The racing experience is simple yet engaging, involving basic controls like steering, acceleration, boost, brakes, and reverse.

The Career Mode requires players to achieve a good result to progress, while also offering the opportunity to collect money icons that can be used to upgrade their ATV in the Mod Shop. Upgrades include new tires, engines, shocks, or turbo boosts, allowing players to fine-tune their vehicle for better performance.
