Road Rash , released for the Sega Genesis in 1992, is an aggressive motorcycle racing game where players take on the role of bikers competing in illegal races across the U.S.A. The objective is to finish first on a linear course by driving well or playing dirty with clubs, crowbars, and bare hands.
The gameplay involves overtaking opponents while navigating through regular roads with normal traffic, cops, oil slicks, and stray cows. Winning races earns promotions to stronger divisions and cash to purchase better bikes. However, losing control of the bike results in running back to it, wasting time and causing damage. Getting caught by cops can lead to being busted and forfeiting the race.
The game features arcade-like gameplay with no simulation intention, and a two-player mode where players take turns.
