Road Rash is an aggressive motorcycle racing game where you play as a biker participating in illegal races across the U.S.A. The goal is to finish first on a linear course by overtaking other bikers. You can do this by driving well or playing dirty, using clubs, crowbars, or your bare hands to knock opponents off their bikes.
The races take place on regular roads with normal traffic and hazards like oil slicks and stray cows. Winning races gets you promoted to a stronger division and earns you cash to buy a better bike. However, losing a race means running back to your bike, wasting time and causing damage.
Like other games in the series, Road Rash has arcade-like gameplay with no intention of being a motorcycle simulation. The game features a two-player mode, but it's not simultaneous.
Road Rash was released for the Sega Master System in 1994.
The game belongs to the Racing genre.
