Road Road Rash is a remake of the original from the early nineties. For those who've not played the original, you're competing against thirteen other "Road Rashers" who will stop at nothing to win. During the race, you have two options available: you can either do your best to cross the finish line or use your weapon to bring the Rashers to the ground if they give you trouble. Do the latter, and your opponents will do the same to you during the next race.
There are five circuits to race: The City, The Peninsula, Pacific Highway, Sierra Nevada, and Napa Valley. Some of these circuits are dangerous. In addition to the obstacles and traffic you encounter along the way, there are also police motorcycle units that will arrest you if you happen to crash or stop near them. Get caught, and you'll have to pay a fine to get in any more races. If you crash too often, your bike will be wrecked, forcing you to pay for damages. The amount you have to pay depends on the bike you are riding. Once you have completed the first five circuits, you have to race them again another four times - but at a much higher difficulty. Manage to win all five circuits on all levels, and you win the Road Rash cup!
There are about five bikes to choose from, divided into three groups; Rat, Sport, and Super. You start the first level with a Rat bike. As you progress through the levels it will become increasingly important to pick bikes from different classes.
If you have no plans to win the Road Rash cup, you can choose the game's Thrash mode. The difference between this and the other mode is that there is no money involved (i.e., you are not allowed to buy bikes), and you're competing against fourteen opponents. And if you wreck your bike or get busted, you have to start all over again. Regardless of the mode you pick, you will always start in the last place.
The remake also contains FMV movies that usually depict the outcome of the races, as well as limited songs performed by various recording artists, including Soundgarden, Therapy?, Monster Magnet, and Swervedriver. These songs can be changed on-the-fly via the game's options menu.

In *The Tank Club*, players navigate the pre-race social hub of a biker racing circuit known as Road Rashers. The premise centers on gathering intelligence and building alliances by interacting with other participants to determine their loyalty. Players must choose whether to schmooze with fellow riders, check the bulletin board, or take a break in the restroom before signing up for upcoming races.
Story
THE TANK CLUB
The Tank Club is where Road Rashers gather to soak up a little liquid courage before contests. From the Club you can sign up for the next race on the circuit, schmooze with those select few rashers who can speak in complete sentences, or hit the Restroom to... uh, adjust things.

How to Play
Starting the Game
1. Turn ON the power switch on your Sega Saturn system.
2. Make sure a control pad is plugged into the port labeled Control 1 on your Sega Saturn system.
3. Open the disc tray and place the Road Rash™ disc inside. Close the tray.
4. Press START to advance to the Start-up menu.

The Start-Up Menu
A dark, damp alley in the toughest part of town. Nobody, not even your high school guidance counselor, imagined you'd sink this low. You're a Road Rasher now, and it's all about satisfying your fix for the next race. Choose a Start-up menu option to begin.

Thrash Mode: The arcade version of Road Rash. No character selection, no bike shop, no unnecessary gossip. Just pick a race and go.

Big Game Mode: See who you are when the chips are down.

Restroom: Adjust game settings.
To choose a Start-up menu option:
1. From the START-UP menu, D-Pad ←→ to highlight an option.
2. Press A to select the highlighted option.
Thrash Mode
The stripped down, no frills version of Road Rash. Just pick a track (set Restroom options if you want), then hit the road.
Big Game Mode
If you think you're all that (and a bag of chips), enter Big Game mode, and show us what you're really made of. Winning the Big Game circuit means more than just burning up the track; you've gotta select an alias whose size and personality complement your racing style and-in the later levels when the competition heats up-you'll have to spend some of that cash to purchase faster bikes.
To enter Big Game mode, select BIG GAME MODE from the STARTUP menu. The CHARACTER SELECTION screen appears.
Character Selection
Remember those people you grew up with who seemed to fall off the face of the earth when you moved on to high school? Well, we combed all the bowling alleys, water towers, and movie theater parking lots in town 'til we rounded 'em up. Choose your alter ego at the Character Selection screen; you can base your decision on bike, personality, size, and bank account.
EA TIP: As a rule of thumb, smaller rashers ride more quickly, while bigger rashers pack more punch. Rashers with bigger bank accounts? Well, they've got more money.
Available characters include: Rhonda the Rash, Axle, Boss Jefferson, Cydney Boss, Milwaukee Joe, Pearl McKardy, Slow Jam, and Teflon Mike.
To choose a character:
1. From the CHARACTER SELECTION screen, D-Pad ↑↓←→ to highlight the character you want.
2. Press A to select the highlighted character. THE STREET appears.
The Street
From The Street, you can duck in Der Panzer Klub to hang out with your fellow dirtbags before the race or take a peek at what's new on the showroom floor in Olley's Skoot-A-Rama.

Der Panzer Klub
There's a bulletin board at Der Panzer Klub with postcards of all the tracks on the Road Rash circuit-this is where you sign up for your next race. Each postcard contains a description of the track along with the course length for the current level
