Great Soccer is a soccer game for the Sega Master System, where you can dribble, pass, shoot and score to win matches. Two game selections are available: one with a top-down perspective and another with 3rd-person perspective penalty kick contest.
The objective of the game is to score more goals than your opponent in either mode. However, if regulation time runs out in the regular soccer game mode, there will be a penalty kick shoot-off to determine the winner. The gameplay includes all the same rules as a real-life match, with elements like kickoffs, offside violations, slide tackles, corner kicks and goalie saves.
You can choose from eight different nations to compete in a professional soccer match, each with their own strengths and expertise. These include Argentina, West Germany, France, Brazil, Great Britain, Italy, USA and Japan.
