Bass Masters Classic is a fishing simulation game where you compete against other anglers at five 3-day tournaments at four lakes. The goal is to catch as many large bass as possible and weigh them against your opponents' catches to be declared the winner.
The gameplay starts with choosing an angler, then you can either visit the bait shop, practice on a pond, or start in the tournament mode. In the bait shop, you can buy various items such as baits, lines, rods, reels, fish finders, and boat engines to aid your fishing. The practice pond is a safe space to get familiar with the game's mechanics without any consequences.
During the tournament, you'll start in a fishing boat and face various challenges like temperature, wind speed, water clarity, and time of day. After casting your line, the game shifts from an above-lake view to a side view of the lake's water depths. It's then up to you to lure fish with your bait and reel them in.
