Super Bomberman 5 is the fifth and final installment in the Bomberman series for the Super Famicom . The game follows a similar formula to its predecessors, with new storylines and battle arenas, but largely the same gameplay.

The story mode features new areas to explore and characters to meet, but ultimately leads to the return of familiar foes. In between story levels, players can engage in multiplayer battles against friends or AI opponents, choosing from a selection of boss characters from the previous games. However, this time around, these bosses do not possess any unique special powers.
