The gameplay follows a traditional soccer experience, with players able to control their team's formations and player positions before each match. Different formations can be chosen, as well as whether the goalkeeper will be controlled automatically or manually. Once the match begins, the game features Mode 7 scrolling, allowing for smooth and detailed visuals of the top-down field.

There are six modes available in the game: Exhibition, Serie A, Situation, Practice, Edit Team, and Option. These modes offer varying levels of gameplay experience, from casual practice sessions to competitive matches against real-life Italian teams. The game also features real-life data on players, adding to its realism.
