Vanguard Bandits is a tactical RPG that takes place on the continent of Eptina, where years of war have finally subsided. The kingdom of Pharastia discovers ancient mechanical giants created by a lost civilization, known as ATACs (All Terrain Armored Combatants). With these new machines, Pharastia brings peace to Eptina, but internal conflicts and power struggles soon erupt, plunging the continent into another devastating war.

Gameplay involves controlling a group of ATACs on missions on a 2D sprite map. Players take turns moving and attacking, with battles transitioning to a 3D side view once hostilities begin. Utilize terrain advantages, such as striking from above or behind your opponent, to gain an upper hand.

Embark on 56 missions to help Bastion regain control of Eptina and bring peace back to the continent. Your decisions before battles and after will impact the outcome – with five distinct endings across three separate storylines.
