Samurai Warriors 3 marks the third title in the main series and the first published by Nintendo, making it an exclusive to the Wii console.

The game takes players on a journey through Japan's Sengoku period, where they can control historical figures with distinct styles, skills, and motives. Players select their character, then follow the typical Samurai Warriors formula: navigating levels, cutting through enemies, and battling bosses to reach the "Hero" character.
