Crash Tag Team Racing is set in a world where Ebeneezer von Clutch's life force is threatened by the theft of the Black Power Gem. With his racetrack amusement park MotorWorld under threat, he turns to Crash and his friends for help in recovering the gem and catching the culprit.
The game follows a similar formula to previous Crash Bandicoot titles, with players able to choose from a variety of characters. New additions include several notable new characters, as well as the ability to 'clash' with another racer, creating a hybrid vehicle to take down opponents.
