Crash Tag Team Racing begins when Ebeneezer von Clutch, owner of MotorWorld amusement park, has his life force-maintaining Black Power Gem stolen. He demands that Crash and friends find the culprit and recover the gem to save him.
The gameplay in Crash Tag Team Racing is similar to other racing games in the Crash Bandicoot series . Players can choose from a variety of characters, including allies and enemies from the series, as well as new ones. A unique feature introduced in this game is the ability to 'clash' with another racer, creating a hybrid vehicle that allows players to work together to destroy opponents.
Crash Tag Team Racing was released on October 19th, 2005 for the PlayStation 2 console.
