Dance Central 3 is the third game in the dance simulation series. The game includes 40 music tracks and a new party mode for up to eight players. Gameplay is similar to the previous two games in the series, where players follow dance moves which are tracked by the Kinect peripheral. The more accurately the players dance, the more points they earn. Harder difficulties mean harder moves for the players to follow.
The game features several new modes, including Crew Throwdown mode, where two teams of up to four go head-to-head in a series of performances and dance battles. There is also a Keep the Beat mini-game, which has the player track the rhythm, and the "Make Your Move" mini-game, where players compete making up routines on the fly.
The game includes new features for beginners, such as a Beginner mode, and a Party Mode, where random songs and mini-games are played, with difficulty levels adjusted based on performance. New tracks and routines can be obtained through downloadable content.
