F1 2012 is a Formula 1 game based on the 2012 season. The game features all twelve teams and twenty-four drivers competing in the 2012 season, as well as the twenty circuits and Grands Prix—including the brand new Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas.
The gameplay involves racing against opponents in various modes. In Career mode, players can play a season as one of the real pilots, but this mode has been improved with some changes. New game modes have also been added, such as Champions and Young Driver Test. The Season Challenge mode is a shorter career where players may frequently swap to a different car constructor by challenging rivals.
The gameplay also includes One-shot Qualifying mode, where only the first lap is retained valid for placement, with the option to make it shorter. This allows for more flexibility and challenge in qualifying sessions.
