The story follows the Ghostbusters team as they try to capture a supernatural threat. The player assumes the role of one of four Ghostbuster characters: Winston, Janine, Peter, or Ray. Each character has their unique abilities and strengths. The game takes place in New York City, where the players must navigate through iconic locations such as the Manhattan Bridge and the Ghostbusters' firehouse.
The gameplay is an action-adventure experience with a mix of exploration, puzzle-solving, and combat. Players must capture ghosts using proton packs, solve puzzles to unlock new areas, and fight against supernatural enemies. The game features a variety of enemies, from simple ones like Gozer's minions to more challenging bosses.
