Out Run is a racing game where you control a car from behind, trying to finish each stage before the time runs out. If you crash or touch an obstacle, your speed will decrease or even cause the car to spin, slowing you down. The stages are set across the US, with changing weather conditions, night racing, and obstacles on the tracks, making it harder to complete.
The game features 16 stages, each with its own unique visuals as you move westward. After every four levels, you'll enter a shop screen where you can upgrade your car with new features like automatic gears or a turbo booster. However, be careful not to overuse the turbo, as it will cause the engine to overheat and need time to recharge again.
