Asteroids

Asteroids is a remake of the Atari arcade classic, with features from the Atari 2600 cartridge added to its 3D graphics and power-ups. You play as an employee of the Astro-Mining Corporation, tasked with clearing assigned areas of space of asteroids and debris in five zones, each with different backgrounds and special features.

The game consists of 15 levels per zone, with various types of asteroids that explode, indestructible ones, fireball comets, crystal asteroids that regenerate, alien egg asteroids containing deadly baby space worms, and ancient energy asteroids that shoot back. You'll also encounter enemies like Standard and Super Saucers, Asteroids Tugs, Fuel Transports, Hexes, Nuke Drivers, and Vulturoids.

You can choose from three types of ships, each with different strengths and weaknesses. There are also three skill levels to play through, with the option to unlock a fourth type of ship if you beat the game at Expert or higher. You can collect limited power-ups like GunSat, Mines, Homing Missiles, Plasma Drill, and Trigger Bombs.

Asteroids supports either one or two players. In two-player mode, your goal is to outscore your opponent in a random zone and level without directly killing them. However, there are other ways to take down your opponent.
