Power Strike II is set in the far future, where you play as a woman pilot tasked with saving the world by destroying alien spaceships and technological plantlife. The story revolves around your quest to stop an evil force from taking over the galaxy.
The gameplay of Power Strike II has been refined further since its predecessor. You're given the choice between secondary weapons, such as Hammer Hawk or Rising Masher , which can be upgraded to unleash devastating attacks. As a last resort, you have access to an ultimate weapon: a smart bomb that destroys all enemies on-screen. However, this powerful tool comes with the limitation of only one use per life.
The game features improved graphics, which take advantage of the Sega Game Gear's capabilities despite its fuzzy screen. The addition of 3D bonus levels, similar to those in Galaxy Force , adds a new layer of challenge and reward for players, offering opportunities to earn bonus points and extra lives by shooting down as many enemies as possible.
