The story of Mario Bros. follows two plumbers who are tasked with cleaning up the sewers beneath New York City. The city's pipes have been overrun by creatures, and it's up to Mario and his brother Luigi to navigate through the tunnels and eliminate these creatures in order to restore the pipes to their former glory.
The gameplay of Mario Bros. is fast-paced and action-packed. Players control one of the two plumbers as they move left and right through the sewers, jumping on top of enemies to defeat them. The goal is to clear each level by removing all the creatures, while also navigating through obstacles such as pits and moving platforms.
Mario Bros. was released for the ZX Spectrum in 1987, and it has since become a classic of the action-adventure genre.
