Resident Evil 2 is an update of Resident Evil 2 , released for the Nintendo Gamecube, a horror game with new extras, a Rookie Mode that gives the player unlimited ammo and the best weapons, and a battle mode to play after completing the game. In this additional challenge, the player must disarm four bombs by going through the game backwards. Beating this mode will unlock higher difficulty levels and other characters to play as.
The story takes place two weeks after the events of Resident Evil and follows Leon S. Kennedy and Claire Redfield as they try to escape from the Raccoon City Police Department, which has been taken over by zombies and monstrous creatures created by the Umbrella Corporation's sinister experiments.
The gameplay involves exploring the police department, fighting against hordes of enemies, solving puzzles, and managing resources such as ammo and health. The game features a variety of weapons, including pistols, shotguns, and rocket launchers, which can be upgraded throughout the game.
