WWE Day of Reckoning 2 brings back the world of wrestling with a new and improved roster, featuring 45 wrestlers to choose from. The game's story mode has been extended, allowing players to experience longer and more varied storylines.
The game also includes continuations of the storylines from the first WWE Day of Reckoning , as well as a new Create-A-Wrestler feature that enables players to create their own wrestlers and put them in the story mode. Two Legends, Bret Hart and Hulk Hogan, have also joined the roster.
Gameplay revolves around stamina management, with a focus on conserving energy levels rather than just having general endurance. When a wrestler's stamina is depleted, they will lose control. Players can perform up to four unique submission moves, which can be executed when their opponent's stamina is low. Injuries sustained by wrestlers are also displayed, ranging from minor cuts to more severe facial or chest injuries.
Additional match types have been added, including The Last Man Standing, where wrestlers are counted out while stunned.
