The story of Okami takes place in feudal Japan, where you play as Amaterasu, a sun goddess who has the power to transform into a wolf. Your quest begins when your father is killed by a group of evil spirits known as the Tengoku no Daibōguu. With the help of her magical brush, Amaterasu sets out to defeat the gods and restore peace to the land.
