Splinter Cell: Double Agent is Sam Fisher's first next generation adventure. Shortly after, his life collapses around him, causing him to become more distant from Third Echelon and even get himself arrested.
But it's all part of the plan. Sam Fisher is now a double agent, working for both the NSA and a terrorist organization known as the JBA. The choices you make affect his outcome - will he do good for the NSA or be swayed by the terrorist group?
The game features a new trust system, where your decisions impact your relationships with both sides. Moral questions arise in various missions, affecting Sam's trust with one side while raising it with another.
As you work through ten missions, you'll use stealth and strategy to complete objectives. Sam will have to sneak around heavily guarded areas, bypass electronic locks, and interrogate or hack for keycodes. You can choose to knock enemies unconscious or kill them, and even use your mouth to lure them into traps.
Missions are varied, from infiltrating the JBA headquarters in New York City to rescuing a soldier in the Congo. Each mission can be completed without firing a single bullet, showcasing Sam's ability as a master spy.
Multiplayer is similar to previous Splinter Cell games, where you take on the role of either a spy or a mercenary. Spies must steal documents, while mercs aim to kill them and protect them. Each side has unique weapons and items, with spies using gadgets and devices to aid their mission.
The PS3 version includes additional content such as new multiplayer modes, maps, co-op challenges, and refinements for the existing content.
