The super-hero must stop the destruction of a city at the hands of a giant robot and its maker. The object, as Eightman (or Nineman), is to move left or right punching enemies and fight a boss at the end of the level. In some levels, you are chasing after a vehicle while enemies jump out at you. Power-ups can be collected along the way, which, when collected will make your kicks and punches stronger as well as give you bombs which are used to damage all enemies. If a two-player game is in progress, a spark will be between them and their bomb power will be increased.

This is an arcade-style action game where players control Eightman, a secret robot detective, through various stages. The premise involves Eightman battling a series of robotic and biological threats to uncover and defeat a mysterious enemy. Players will engage in combat against stage bosses like super robots and airships.



Story

Criminal Investigation Division

The Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department's Criminal Investigation Division has organized seven 7-member squads, totaling forty-nine detectives.

Eightman

Eightman is considered the eighth detective of each squad. 8 MAN is in fact a robot that looks just like a human being.

The only person who knows that 8 MAN is superhuman is TANAKA, the section manager.

Stages

STAGE 1

The bloody air raid which took place in the night of Tokyo. Dash-8 Man! Reveal the enemy!

Stage boss: Super robot 005.

STAGE 2

Discovered! The enemy's factory! Immediately attack & destroy the state of the art weapons.

Stage boss: Air battle ship, Harry Squary.

STAGE 3

Hero will be surrounded by bioweapons in the main base of enemies. Don't yield-8 Man!

Stage boss: Devil Kozuma.

STAGE 4

At last, the hero will face the super Cyber. Its power & shape is unknown.

Stage boss: Super Cyber.



How to Play

Game Contents

Break through Action stage, High speed scrolling stage & Boss stage with controlling Hachiro Azuma, "8 MAN", and Ken Tani.

Their mission is to destroy "Super Cyber".

How to Start the Game

Push the start button on the controller to begin.

Game starts when you press the A button after selecting a difficulty level by using the joystick.

Level Select

•

EASY: For beginner

•

NORMAL: For intermediate

•

HARD: For advanced

•

MVS MODE: For same setting as the MVS arcade version (Level between NORMAL and HARD)

2P Simultaneous Play / Buy-in

When you play with another player, connect 1P and 2P controllers to the hardware and press the start button on both controllers.

When you press the start button on another side controller during 1P play, another player can join in at any time.

Game Over

You lose "8 MAN" when you have a damage level of more than the minimum level. Game is over when you lose 3 lives.

Continue

When GAME OVER, continue count appears on the screen. Before its count reaches 0, press the start button, you can then resume game play from where you left off.

Continues are limited to three. You cannot continue game play if you die three times.

Save

Insert the Memory Card into the hardware before starting game.

SAVE SCREEN appears when continue count reaches 0. Game data will be saved when you press the A button after selecting "Yes" by use of the joystick.

Load

Turn the power of the hardware on and insert the Memory Card before starting the game.

LOAD SCREEN will appear when you press the start button after choosing the level setting. You can continue your game play where you left off when you press the A button after selecting "Yes" by use of the joystick.

High Speed Scroll Area

At the first, third, and fourth stage, there will be battles in special areas. Control Eight MAN well, attack the enemies, and speed through this special area with care, as the automatic scroll is at very high speed.



Enemies & Characters

SPHELO CREATURE

This is a biological weapon created from the combination of the cells of an armadillo and a human.

SUPER ROBOT 007

He is a marvelous robot who was developed by Dr. White at the same time as Eightman. Robot 007 is now being mass produced in the cyber factory.

IRON MAN

He is a superman who is a lower class soldier of the cyber forces.

TACKLE MAN

He is a high speed soldier who is skilled at abrupt crash attacks.

ARMORED MOTORCAR

This is a shipping mechanism used in high speed travel. It is equipped with a strong laser gun.

DRILL MAN

He has two electronic brains and he can attack only the upper half of the body or the lower half of the body.

NIGHT STOKER

This is a biological monster created by the devil Kozuma as his pet. It is a watch dog that has the laser gun that is the same as Robot 007 uses.



Items & Weapons

LIFE UP ITEM

Hero will gain 1 gauge of life.

POWER UP ITEM

Hitting range will be extended and final blow will also power-up.

FINAL-BLOW UP ITEM

One final blow will be added.

NO-DEATH MODE ITEM

Hero will be free of any damage for a certain period of time.

1 UP ITEM

1 hero will be added.
