Puyo Puyo Fever is a puzzle game that challenges players to stack and arrange falling blobs, known as "puyos", in the correct color patterns to outmaneuver their opponent. The goal is to send "garbage" puyos to the opposing player, flooding them with unwanted units and gaining an advantage.
The gameplay revolves around chaining puyos together in succession to increase the fever meter, which unlocks new abilities for the garbage puyos sent to the opponent. Players can also earn money by winning matches, allowing them to purchase special items that modify the game rules to their benefit.
