Super Daisenryaku is a war strategy game developed by SystemSoft, part of a long-running series. The gameplay mechanics are inspired by Daisenryaku II , but feature unique maps, including several based on the Phantasy Star series in Sega's console version. This release does not have a campaign mode, allowing players to choose from a variety of included maps, which can be played solo or with up to four human and computer players.
The game is played on a large map divided into hexagonal spaces, each representing a specific terrain type. Players control units, bought with money, that take up one space on the grid. The available unit types depend on the chosen faction, ranging from single nations to alliances like NATO. Each unit has strengths and weaknesses affecting its performance in combat and role on the battlefield.
The goal of each game is to capture the opposing player's capitals. Terrain also plays a crucial role in battles, with different units performing better or worse based on their characteristics. The included maps offer a variety of challenges, from solo play to multiplayer modes, making Super Daisenryaku an engaging war strategy experience.
