Samurai Shodown II sees players taking on one of fifteen warriors as they fight their way through the land to defeat Rashojin Mizuki, who was thrown into the sea as a child and has since become a servant of the dark god Ambrosia.
The game features five new playable characters: Genjuro Kibagami, Cham-Cham, Neinhalt Sieger, Nicotine Caffeine, and Kuroko. The sequel introduces various gameplay additions, including special moves that can be accessed by charging up a power meter.
Characters in Samurai Shodown II can now roll forward and backward, perform small jumps to evade attacks, and duck to avoid high ones. A parrying move is also available, leaving the opponent vulnerable if executed at the right time.
Samurai Shodown II was released for the Neo Geo AES in 1993.
