Story Mode
Four Knights (Jayko, Santis, Rascus, and Danju) step into a land of endless adventure. You must first face the "Trials of Jayko" and "Free the King" to test your skills. These adventures must be overcome before you can progress.
The Knights journey through lands to restore order to the Kingdom of Morcia. Each Knight has a Quest in his home Province, and these four Quests can be played in any order.
After completing previous levels, three final adventures await. These must be played in this order: "Desolate Wastelands," "Citadel of Orlan," and the "Grand Tournament." You may replay any unlocked level as many times as you wish.
Tournament Arena Mode
Only the bravest Knights compete in Tournaments. Battle through a 4-round tournament using your chosen Knight to face the dreaded Vladek. To win, you must defeat the 3 other Hero Knights and finally Vladek.
Tournament Arena Mode consists of 3 stages: Hand-to-Hand Combat, Lightning Combat, and Jousting. Points are won in each stage; the combatant with the most points advances. If you are defeated, you must start again from the beginning.
Find all Vladek Artifacts in Story Mode to play as Vladek against the four Hero Knights.
Multiplayer Mode
Go head-to-head against a friend over the 3 stages of the Tournament Arena. Choose your Knight on the Knight Select screen, then enter the Arena to do battle. The winner is the player with the most points after the third round.
Each player must have a LEGO Knights' Kingdom Game Pak inserted in their Game Boy Advance. A Game Boy Advance Game Link cable is also required.
Last Man Standing
Recover all pieces of The Lost Key in Story Mode to unlock this mode. Survive against hordes of enemies threatening to overwhelm fair Morcia. You must last as long as possible against an endless stream of increasingly powerful enemies.
Gems in the bottom right indicate collected Lightning types. The highlighted gem shows the currently selected type. The power bar on the sword changes color to match the selected gem.
Collecting a Potion power-up displays a flashing bottle icon between the Armor Power and Lightning Power icons. This indicator stays on screen for the effect's duration or until another Potion is collected.
Tournament Arena/Multiplayer Status
These modes use components similar to Story Mode. The status of both players is represented by a small energy bar and score.
Reynar Sword
Launches a ball of orange lightning that freezes the targeted opponent for a few seconds. It also freezes any opponents close by upon impact.
Quest Items
Knights find items that people of the land have asked them to look for. Fulfilling these quests grants a Vladek Artifact or a piece of The Lost Key.
•
Vladek Artifacts: Find all artifacts to unlock Vladek as a playable character in Tournament Arena, Last Man Standing, and Multiplayer modes.
•
The Lost Key: Find all pieces to unlock the secret Last Man Standing mode.
World Interactions
•
Lightning Switches: Wall-mounted switches that must be struck by lightning to activate. They may function like a Key or a Summon switch when activated.
•
Floor Switches: Sometimes hidden under other objects or people.
•
Buildings: Many buildings in the Provinces of Morcia are enterable. You may need to find switches to open the doors.
•
Worried Persons: Knights often encounter people in distress. There is always a way to help them.
