The handheld editions of LEGO Star Wars III: The Clone Wars offer a similar gaming experience to their home console counterparts, while maintaining the family-friendly content.
The games feature 13 levels based on the first and second seasons of the TV series, with platform puzzle-solving and defeating droids and other foes. Most levels take place in flight-mode, where players must complete missions such as defeating an army of vulture droids.
Players can control Jedi characters, who have new abilities like climbing walls with their lightsabers and tracing shapes to reach higher areas. Characters like Obi-Wan Kenobi, Anakin Skywalker, and Ahsoka Tano are the main lineup for Story mode, but additional characters can be unlocked in Free Play to find hidden minikit pieces and Red Bricks.
The handheld versions include several minigames such as Snowball Fight, where players must defeat Clone Wars characters with snowballs, and Droid Volleyball, a volleyball game with R2-D2 and R3-S6, which can be unlocked with a Red Brick.
