Marvel Super Heroes Vs. Street Fighter , released in 1999, is a 2D fighting game that brings together characters from Capcom's Street Fighter series with those of the Marvel comic universe.
The game introduces a new tag team style of combat where players can call for another character during a fight. Matches consist of two-on-two battles, with players controlling one character at a time. The opposing character can be called in regularly or while doing an attack, and both characters regain health while waiting. To win the match, both opposing characters need to be defeated, with the game automatically calling in the other character when one dies.
The game features most of the X-Men characters from X-Men: Children of the Atom and Marvel Super Heroes, including Cyclops, Storm, Juggernaut, Magneto, and Wolverine, as well as new additions such as Rogue, Gambit, and Sabretooth. The Street Fighter characters come from Street Fighter Alpha 2, including Ryu, Ken, Cammy/Chun-Li, Charlie, Zangief, Dhalsim, M. Bison, and Akuma.
