Ferrari Grand Prix Challenge is a racing simulation game that puts players in the driver's seat from a first-person view, similar to Super Monaco Grand Prix . The game allows players to modify their car setup before hitting the track. Players can compete in Time Attack mode, aiming for the fastest lap times on any of the 20 circuits, including all 16 tracks from the 1992 Formula 1 season.

The game also features a full season mode, with qualifying and racing, as well as a unique feature: weather customization in Time Attack mode. However, in Grand Prix mode, the weather is randomly chosen, and players can only choose one of the weaker D-tier teams. In contrast, players can drive for top teams like McLaren and Williams in Time Attack mode.
