You are a silencer, the elite of the elite soldiers of World Economic Consortium. You are used to orders of hunting down the Resistance, a ragtag band of rebels committing sabotage and other acts of terrorism against the WEC, but slowly, you realized the WEC is not quite what it appears to be... then one day you and two other Silencers, your best buddies, were ambushed by a WEC mech patrol when it was supposed to be a routine mission. You alone survived. It is clear that the Silencer is being silenced... and the only place to turn is the Resistance...
Crusader: No Remorse is an action & adventure game set on the Sega Saturn. As a silencer, you can roll left, roll right, kneel, jump, run, and perform other acrobatic moves. You get plenty of different weapons, from assault rifles and shotguns to grenade launchers and lasers. You're up against the full military might of the WEC, from simple guards to Guardmechs and elite forces.
The gameplay involves shooting your way through levels, bypassing traps, opening doors, disabling alarms, taking out security cameras, and more. There's usually a bit of puzzle involved, often requiring you to explore the map to find a switch or a terminal with the code that'll let you access another part or another level of the map.
Between missions, you can chat in the Resistance base, buy/sell weapons, and replenish your energy and health at recharge stations. You can also find batteries and first aid kits.
The missions range from simple sabotage to rescue. With its intense action and puzzle-solving elements, Crusader: No Remorse is an exciting experience for fans of 2D isometric shooters.

How to Play
STARTING THE GAME
Set up your Saturn game console according to the instructions in its Instruction Manual. Make sure the power is OFF before inserting or removing a compact disc.
Insert the *Crusader: No Remorse* disc and close the CD door. Insert the game controller and memory card (if used) and turn on the Saturn game console.
From the Sega opening screen, select Start Application and push A to load the game. Use START to bypass the introduction.
Subtitles are available. Press A during any video to toggle subtitles on or off.
MAIN MENU
This screen allows you to set your preferences and get into play. Highlight your selection with ^ and v, and press A to select an option.
NEW GAME
This option takes you to the beginning of the first mission. First, however, you must select the difficulty level at which you wish to play.
DIFFICULTY LEVEL
There are four different levels of difficulty in *Crusader*. Progressively higher difficulty levels have more, tougher, and better-armed enemies. The four levels are:

Highlight your selection with ^ and v. A accepts your choice, C returns you to the Main Menu.
PAUSE MENU
If you wish to save, reload, or adjust your volume levels during play, you may push START to access the Pause Menu. Move between options with β² and βΌ.
SAVE GAME
Save the game at the point you paused. Use (A) to enter the save game screen, use (L) and (R) to select the slot you wish to save, then (A) to save or (C) to cancel and return to the Pause Menu. (Y) (Z) cycles through internal memory and external memory devices.
LOAD GAME
Return to a previously saved point in the game. Use (A) to enter the load game screen, use (L) and (R) to select the slot you wish to load, then (A) to load or (C) to cancel and return to the Pause Menu.
SOUND VOLUME
Use β and βΊ to increase or decrease the volume of sound effects and voices. (A) plays a sound sample.
MUSIC VOLUME
Use β and βΊ to increase or decrease the music volume.
CONTROLLER SETUP
Allows you to select the controller setup you prefer. Use β and βΊ to select the setup you wish to load.
MOTION
Allows you to toggle between absolute and relative movement. Use β and βΊ to toggle movement.
From the Pause Menu, push START to save changes and return to play, (B) to quit the game, or (C) to return to play without saving changes. If you choose to quit the game, you will be prompted to confirm your choice - use (A) to confirm and quit the game, or (C) to return to the Pause Menu.
FIRE AND MOVEMENT
TARGETING
Whenever the Silencer has a weapon readied, cross hairs will appear a short distance in front of him to help with aim. When he's lined up with an enemy or targetable object, an orange targeting reticle will appear and zero in on that object.
FIRING
A firing action (A) will fire or reload a weapon. When the current clip is out of ammo, and there are more clips in the Ammunition Inventory, a single firing action will automatically reload the weapon with a fresh clip.
MOVEMENT MODES
The Silencer can be moved in two basic ways - absolute and relative movement. You can toggle between the two modes with R Z, or from the Pause Menu.
In Relative Movement, β² moves the Silencer ahead in the direction he's facing, βΌ causes him to back up, and β and βΊ cause him to turn to the left or the right.
In Absolute Movement, the Silencer moves in the direction indicated by the arrow. β² will cause him to face and move towards the top right corner of the screen. Switching from β² to βΊ will cause him to do a right-face and move towards the lower right corner of the screen. (If he is crouched or holding down the Fire key during Absolute Movement, β and βΊ rotate the Silencer, making it easier to aim.)
SEARCHING AND USING ITEMS
To Search or Use an object, the Silencer must be standing next to it. Use β, and a cursor appears over the object if it can be Searched or Used. Further pressing of β toggles you through any other Searchable objects that might be in reach - never assume that the first use of β shows you everything there is to see. If there are no Searchable objects at hand, a soft βbeepβ will sound.
Once the Search cursor is on an object, β throws switches, opens footlockers, pushes buttons, or otherwise manipulates the object, or transfers any items the object contained to your inventory.
TAKING ITEMS
If you open an object like a footlocker or a safe, or Search a dead body, a list of the items it contains appears in the top left corner of the screen, and everything on that list is automatically added to your inventory. If you do not have room for the item in your inventory, it will remain on the floor.

A light assault weapon constructed of ballistic-grade plastics that fires frictionless, caseless .30 rounds with a 60-round magazine and 2-round burst preset.
RP-32 "PACIFIST" SEMIAUTOMATIC ASSAULT RIFLE .30
The standard infantry weapon for WEC military forces, functionally identical to the RP-22 but preset to fire in 3-round bursts.
SG-A1 "CONFORMER" SHOTGUN
A standard issue anti-personnel weapon for riot control that fires 13-gram fragmenting shells from a 12-round magazine.
GL-303 GRENADE LAUNCHER
A weapon used by WEC fire teams and police that mounts an internal 10-grenade magazine and typically fires antipersonnel grenades with concussion and incendiary capabilities.
AR-7 "RICO" ROCKET LAUNCHER
An experimental weapon holding up to 8 rounds that fires micro-missiles in a 45-degree fan for anti-sniper and recon applications.
JL-2 "PURIFIER" MASS DRIVER
An advanced hybrid weapon propelling high-density matter at ultra-high speeds to nearly vaporize unarmored enemies, requiring a 10-projectile magazine and battery power.
PA-31 "ADJUDICATOR" LASER RIFLE
A laser rifle fired by WEC lightning teams and troopers, particularly effective against robots and armored targets, utilizing a pulsed varicolor beam.
PL-1 "UNIFIER" PLASMA RIFLE
A fully automatic plasma rifle capable of disintegrating non-shielded humans and damaging vehicles, firing up to six bursts per second.
EM-4 "VORTEX" ELECTROMAGNETIC PULSE RIFLE
An anti-servomech weapon that fires concentrated electromagnetic pulses to disrupt machinery or instantly incinerate unprotected human targets.
UV-9 "PULSAR" ULTRAVIOLET RIFLE
A developmental weapon generating concentrated ultraviolet energy pulses with extreme incendiary effects that can burn flesh from unarmored targets.
DET PAC
A standard-issue satchel charge consisting of explosive and timed detonator that explodes a few seconds after being dropped.
BLAST PAC/FUSION PAC
Extremely powerful charges used for heavy demolitions and major sabotage, issued only during specific missions.
LIMPET MINE
An electrostatically affixed mine that detonates when moving objects approach within 1/2 meter, used for territory denial.
SPIDER BOMB
An ambulatory munition that walks to its target via mechanical legs controlled by a joystick before detonating.
IONIC SHIELD
A personal shield generator surrounding the wearer in a sphere of energized electrons that absorbs kinetic energy from ballistic projectiles.
PLASMA SHIELD
A shield surrounding the user in a plasma sphere that reduces ballistic projectile energy and the destructive potential of energy weapons.
GRAVITON SHIELD
An experimental shield using localized space-time distortion for high protection against large projectiles and energy weapons, reserved for VIPs.
DATALINK
A hand-held mission computer and communications device for holding briefings, intelligence reports, and encrypted satellite communications.
MED KIT
A one-use electronic field dressing that seals wounds and injects medications to keep the user alert and functioning until medical attention is available.
BATTERIES AND ENERGY CELLS
Portable power supplies including rechargeable chemical, fission, and fusion batteries, alongside disposable energy cells used to recharge batteries.
Tips & Maps
ALARM BOX
If flashing, the mission area is in alert and reinforcements will arrive soon. You can cancel the alarm by using the alarm box.
BOX SWITCH
These wall-mounted levers are used to open doors, control lifts, and operate other simple devices.
CARDREADER
You need the correct color-coded keycard to enter, which is scanned automatically if in possession. A cardreader will not work unless all alarms have been deactivated.
CONTROL BOX
A large knife-switch that basically does the same thing as a box switch.
DATA TERMINAL
Pass these to view screens that may provide important information, cancel general alerts, or allow control of servomechs.
FOOTLOCKER
These special containers hold personal equipment that is often highly useful. Always check a locker, but do not damage it as contents will be lost if damaged.
HEALTH STATION
A miniature, automated hospital that can bring your Health up to full in a few seconds by simply walking into it.
KEYCARD
The only way to get into certain restricted areas is to have the right color-coded keycard that matches the reader.
KEYPADS
The control panel for a computerized combination lock that requires the right code to allow entry. A keypad will not work unless all alarms have been deactivated.
VALVE
Look for a valve to turn if you need to stop the flow of hazardous liquids or gasses, or if using their flow might be useful.
WALL CAMERA
If a camera sees the Silencer, it may sound the alarm or activate traps. Blast it quickly as it takes a couple of seconds to lock on.
WALL SWITCH
These standard electronic switches can perform any of the functions of a box switch.
WATCH STATION
These screens provide a view of other parts of the mission site, offering a valuable preview of hazards. You can exit the screen with the β button.
