The player has a choice to kill enemies instantly or switch into a special battle mode where they must press a button as fast as possible to win combat. Each killed enemy gives money and experience for leveling up, and it's also possible to make money by playing roulette. Money can be spent on hiring mercenaries to assist during fights.

The gameplay involves action-platforming with an emphasis on quick reflexes and timing in combat. The player must navigate through levels, fighting enemies and collecting items while avoiding obstacles.
