FIFA 99 was the third instalment in the FIFA series released just over a year after its predecessor. The game features 42 national sides, along with 250 club teams from 12 different leagues, allowing players to experience a complete true-to-life season, play in the Super League, or create their own league or cup competition. Players can also set formations and tactics, as well as move players between teams.
FIFA 99 offers improved gameplay with multiple camera angles. The game boasts new player animations, including sliding tackles and close-control trapping, while goalkeepers now have a more human-like control over their movements. This added realism makes for a more immersive gaming experience.
