Jurassic: The Hunted is a first-person shooter game where the player controls Craig Dylan, a weapons and survival expert. In 1983, an expedition to the Bermuda Triangle disappeared, but nearly 30 years later, the daughter of Dr. Sayrus receives a distress signal from their lost team. Dylan joins the team to investigate, but their plane crashes in a storm, causing them to parachute down into mysterious energy portals. Suddenly, Craig finds himself on an island filled with dinosaurs.

The game features dense jungle, fortifications, and volcano areas as its environment. The player must fight 13 different types of dinosaurs, including velociraptors, pterosaurs, triceratops, and tyrannosaurus. In addition to the standard shoot-em-up gameplay, Dylan has access to an Adrenaline Burst that slows down time for more accurate shots. This feature also highlights weak spots on dinosaurs in a bright color. The player can choose from 13 different weapons, including civil war rifles, crossbows with explosive arrows, and futuristic plasma rifles. There are also stationary turrets to defend against large hordes.

The game includes a regular story mode with 12 levels and a survivor mode where the player must go against an endless wave of dinosaurs. In the regular mode, players can find scattered pieces of new weapons that can be assembled in the survivor mode.
