The King of Route 66 is an arcade-style 18-Wheeler driving game set on the famous Route 66, a highway that runs through America from Illinois to California. The game takes place in a world where the Evil Tornado Corporation has taken over all the trucking jobs along Route 66.
The King of Route 66 mode is played mostly like a sequel to 18 Wheeler , with you playing as a hero trucker who challenges Tornado drivers all along the route and puts them in their place by getting your cargo to the destination first. The next game mode, called the Queen of Route 66, requires you to complete specific challenges set to you by the Queen of the particular state you have selected.
King of Route 66 , Rival Chase , and Route 66 Challenge are some of the other game modes available. The Vs. Battle mode is a two-player mode, offering a different experience compared to the others.
The game was released on the PlayStation 2 on March 18th, 2003 , and is part of the racing genre.
