Robots , released for the PlayStation 2 in February 2005, follows the story of Rodney Copperbottom, a young inventor who moves to the city to work for his childhood hero, Bigweld . However, upon arrival, he finds that Bigweld is mysteriously absent and the corporation is now run by Ratchet and his evil bots. With the help of the Rusties, a group of colourful outmodes, Rodney must defeat an army of mechanical minions to restore order to the city.
The gameplay in Robots takes place in 3D environments, with the player controlling Rodney as he battles evil bots and upgrades his weapons. The game features a mix of platforming and action elements, allowing players to explore various locations from the movie, including Rivet Town, Robot City, and Big Weld's Factory. In addition to playing as Rodney, players can also control Wonderbot, Rodney's mechanical sidekick, to access certain areas and complete specific levels.
