George Foreman's KO Boxing is a boxing simulation game where you take on the role of the heavyweight champion, George Foreman, as he battles against various boxers to win the championship title belt.
The gameplay involves navigating through 12 rounds against different opponents from a third-person perspective. You can move left and right to dodge incoming punches, block, and throw punches using the Up-key. Holding the Up-key also allows for jabs to be thrown. By avoiding punches and hitting them, you can earn superpunches that deal massive damage. A fight is divided into three rounds of three minutes each, with a match ending when a boxer is knocked down four times or goes down three times in a single round.
A key aspect of the game is managing your energy meter, which drains when punches are received. After being knocked down and during intermissions, some energy is restored. The game also features a two-player mode, except for the Game Boy version, which uses a password system to save progress.
