Spanky's Quest

Spanky's Quest is a Game Boy action-adventure game where Spanky, a cute little monkey, must escape from a tower filled with enemies. The goal is to climb four different towers, which can be chosen at the start of the game. Once all four towers have been climbed, the fifth tower remains and must be overcome.

The main objective is to collect keys by defeating or disarming the enemies in each tower. To aid Spanky, he has a magic ball that can stun enemies temporarily, but it also serves as a puzzle tool when bounced around. The size of the ball grows with each bounce, and depending on its size, it explodes in different patterns, killing off the remaining enemies and releasing keys.

Published by Taito for Europe, Spanky's Quest fits into the company's portfolio of puzzle arcade platformers, similar to Bubble Bobble. The game also exists on the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES), but with different level layouts and a fixed tower selection.
