Super Monaco GP II is based on the career of Ayrton Senna, who won six times at the Monaco Grand Prix and three Formula One world championships. The game follows his journey as the perfect fit for a home sequel to the classic arcade racing game.
The gameplay in Super Monaco GP II features three main modes: Senna GP, World Championship, and Free Practice. The World Championship mode offers two variations, Beginner and Master, which affect the gameplay. In Master mode, players must challenge drivers from other teams to climb the ranks and claim the title.
The core of each race in Super Monaco GP II remains the same: choosing between an Automatic or Manual gearbox, setting up controller options, and racing against 16 drivers. Players can instantly wreck their car if it goes at top speed against a roadside object.
