Unlike its predecessor, this game allows players to control three characters at will, each with unique punch and kick sequences, and special techniques that yield varying results. The classic ninja tools from the first game, such as shuriken, kunai, and fuma, are also present, but now a single hit is enough to dispatch an enemy.

Throughout the stages, players can discover summoning scrolls to bring in allies like Kakashi, Choji, and others to aid them in battles. Additionally, the Teleport move enables players to teleport near or behind enemies to attack or evade their attacks. Each stage presents various objectives, such as defeating all enemies, completing within a time limit, or using only one character.
