Monster Jam is a monster truck racing game based on the existing TV show under the same name, which also incorporates a series of live events hosted by Live Nation. Unlike previous games in the Monster Jam franchise, this game includes 20 pre-existing trucks licensed specifically for the game by USHRA (United States Hot Rod Association). The game features well-known monster trucks such as Destroyer, Bounty Hunter, Blue Thunder, Captain's Cruise, and Grave Digger. The player starts with a limited number of trucks and tracks to choose from. To progress through the game, players must participate in various events to earn career points, which unlock new items. The amount of points awarded depends on the player's performance in each event, with the following challenges available:
Freestyle - a classic monster truck challenge where players must perform stunts and interact with the environment in a destructive way until time runs out.
Track Circuit - an off-road lap-based racing challenge through different countryside environments.
Eliminator - a knock-out race where each lap eliminates the last truck to complete it.
Stadium Circuit - a variant of Track Circuit with events taking place in the arena, rather than outdoor locations.
Stadium Racing - a drag racing challenge where players must boost their maximum speed to arrive first at the finish line.
Once enough points are earned, players can participate in the Monster Jam World Finals to prove their worth as the ultimate champion of Monster Jam .
The game places a strong emphasis on its fully destructible levels. Players can crush, move, or destroy nearly everything they encounter on the track, earning additional points and allowing for extended use of the "nitro boost" power-up.
Players can choose from two difficulty modes: "Normal", suitable for most players, and "Pro", designed for expert Monster Truck enthusiasts only.
