Worms: Armageddon is a standalone expansion to Worms 2, introducing extensive improvements and additions over the original game. Among these changes are new weapons and utilities, singleplayer campaigns and challenges, new gameplay schemes, a new menu interface, sounds, voice banks, music, and predefined maps. The game also features an expanded map editor, including a voice bank editor as a separate application.
The player takes on the role of commanding a team of up to eight worms, each with their own special weapon of choice. The objective is to hit the opponent's artillery piece, taking into account wind effects and using various types of weapons such as bazookas, mini-guns, and exploding sheep. The game also features jumping, swinging by rope, and descending with a parachute in certain situations.
Worms: Armageddon is played on the GameBoy Color console, falls under the genre of Puzzle, and was released in 2000. The game's AI-controlled teams have five difficulty settings, and players can now customize their team's representative flags, victory anthems, and gravestones.
