You play as Frogger , guiding it across a treacherous road and river to safety at the top of the screen. The journey is fraught with hazards that will kill your frog and cost you a life if contact is made.

The road is filled with cars and trucks moving at variable speeds, while the river water itself is fatal. Later levels introduce snakes hovering above, adding to the challenge. To overcome these obstacles, Frogger must use logs, turtles (available for only a short time), and alligators, avoiding their faces if possible.

Your goal is to jump into one of the open home-cells, ideally one containing a fly for extra points. Once all holes have been filled, you move on to the next level, which becomes increasingly harder. The objective is to guide Frogger through the treacherous terrain and reach the top of the screen without losing any lives.
