Ernie Els Golf , released for the Sega Game Gear in 1994, is a handheld golf game designed for up to four players. The gameplay is similar to other golf games of its time, with the golfer being viewed from a behind perspective when swinging and then switching to a top-down perspective when the ball is in the air.
The gameplay involves using a three-click power bar to set the shot's power. Before taking a shot, players can choose their club, adjust the golfer's stance, and position the ball. The game also features replays from three different views after each shot. Additionally, players have the option to use mulligans, which allow them to undo a shot, and choose how many mulligans they want to use.
Four courses are available, with two having 18 holes: St. Davids in Britain and Sunny Lakes in the USA, while Hokkaido in Japan and Sydney in Australia have nine holes each. The game offers seven different modes of play, including practice, stroke play, match play, and more.
