The NBA Jam Tournament Edition is an arcade basketball game that lets you play two-on-two with players from all the NBA teams. The gameplay is fast and action-packed, with few rules and no fouls, making it a fun and exciting experience.
You can play with up to four human players, each controlling a single player for their team, or against a third player with an AI teammate. The game also allows for substitutions between quarters, which adds strategy to the gameplay.
The Tournament Edition has some new features that make it stand out from other games in the series. You can now have up to three players on each team, and substitutions are allowed between quarters. Shoving players will result in injuries, so you'll need to substitute them out and let them recover. The game also includes secret characters, cheat modes, and four new features that can be enabled from the special options menu.
These features include "Hot Spots" on the court that reward extra points for making a basket while standing in them, powerup icons that give you temporary arcade-like benefits when picked up, "Juice Mode" that increases the speed of the game, and "Tournament Mode" that challenges you to defeat all the NBA teams to unlock extra players.
